Simply put, authors like to kill off characters the same way I like to eat whole sleeves of Oreos\u2014frequently, on purpose, and with reckless abandon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, however, authors drop the ball. As a result, a character who should have died at some point in the story somehow manages to not do that.
