Tomorrow, When the War Began is a young adult novel by John Marsden. It was published in 1993, and is the first book in Marsden's seven-part Tomorrow Series. The book became an instant hit, selling over three million copies between 1993 and 1998. In 1996, the American Library Association named Tomorrow, When the War Began as one of the best young adult books of the year, and it continued to garner accolades and awards. The novel details the invasion and occupation of Australia by fictional foreign power, and highlights themes of war, love, family and fear. Tomorrow, When the War Began was adapted into a 2010 film, and also as a 2016 television series.
