Understanding the language in a text is directly linked to comprehension, and archaic language, particularly that found in Shakespeare’s works, can present a real challenge to today’s students. Students will use this worksheet to better understand commonly used archaic words and phrases from Shakespeare’s time. Pass out this worksheet prior to reading Macbeth. Remind students to refer to this resource as they read the play.
