Analyzing a character’s motivations over the course of a text provides deep insight into the text’s meaning and the author’s purpose. Students will use this worksheet to trace two secondary characters’ development in Romeo and Juliet. Students will chart four of each character’s critical moments in the play and then explain the character’s motivations and the significance of the events to the play as a whole.
