Overview
The Wild Duck, a play by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, was first performed in 1884
. It tells the story of Gregers Werle, a young man who returns to his hometown after fifteen years away. Gregers becomes involved in the lives of the Ekdal family, particularly that of Hjalmar Ekdal, a former classmate.
