Computing Integrals

Addition and Multiplication by a Constant

Change of Variables

Problem : Compute 2 cos(x) - 3e x dx .

Use the addition and multiplication by a constant rules for integration:

2 cos(x) - 3e x dx = 2cos(x)dx - 3 e x dx
  = 2 sin(x) - 3e x + C

where C is an arbitrary constant.
