Overview

Fool for Love is a play written by Sam Shepard that was first performed in 1983. The play is set in a motel room in the American West and follows the tumultuous relationship between the former lovers May and Eddie. The play explores themes of love, family, and the cyclical nature of life. Fool for Love was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1984 and was adapted into a film starring Shepard in 1985.
