Overview

The Return of the King, first published in 1955, is the third book in J. R. R. Tolkien's epic fantasy trilogy The Lord of the Rings. The story follows Frodo Baggins, a hobbit, and his companions as they continue their quest to destroy the One Ring. Tolkein delves into the concepts of redemption, friendship, and the ambiguity of evil as the fellowship works towards the ultimate goal of defeating the Dark Lord Sauron. It was adapted into a film in 2003 as part of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
