“The Most Dangerous Game” is a 1924 short story by American author Richard Connell, also with “The Hounds of Zaroff” as its title. It tells the story of Sanger Rainsford, a big-game hunter who becomes the prey of a Russian aristocrat named General Zaroff. The story is a suspenseful and thrilling examination of the nature of violence and the morality of hunting. It has been adapted for film and television numerous times, including as the 1932 film The Most Dangerous Game
