In Chapter 7, Ruiz invites the reader to imagine a life without fear of expression or judgment, fear of rejection, or fear of taking risks. He asks the reader to think of a life of happiness, confidence, and self-love, and assures that this sort of life is possible, because he himself has achieved it. This life of bliss is only possible because of love, which will clear the smoke from the mirror and quiet the mitote, allowing you to live in a new dream of heaven. The key is to choose happiness, not suffering, and love every day.

The book closes with two prayers, one for freedom and the other for love. The prayer for freedom asks for the ability to love unconditionally, to be nonjudgmental with both ourselves and others, to avoid blame and punishment, and to cleanse ourselves from emotional poison. The prayer for love begins with a story of an old man meditating with the fire of love around him, which burns so strongly that it must be shared with all. He then passes on this fire to the reader, and the prayer begins, thanking the Creator of the Universe for the gift of life and professing love for all of creation.
