Adam Grant (b. 1981) is an organizational psychologist at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the author of several books on personal development and popular science. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard and his Ph.D. in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan. Before becoming a professor, Grant was the advertising director at Let’s Go Publications. Grant was ranked by students as best professor at Wharton from 2011 to 2017. In 2023, he was named by the Thinkers50 (a group that studies and ranks influential management thinkers) as the second most influential management thinker in the world. He published his first book, Give and Take: A Revolutionary Approach to Success, in 2013 and writes on work and psychology for the New York Times. Grant has received awards for distinguished scholarly achievement from the Academy of Management, the American Psychological Association, and the National Science Foundation, and has been recognized as one of the world’s most cited and most influential researchers in business and economics. He is a former magician and Junior Olympic springboard diver.
