But suddenly he noticed that all three guys were staring at him. He quickly looked at Adam and saw why. Adam was pointing at him.
After Adam flicks a cigarette off the bridge and hits the windshield of a passing car, the driver and passengers confront Seth and Adam. They ask who was responsible. Seth refuses to betray his friend, so he stays quiet. Adam, on the other hand, betrays Seth. By pointing at Seth, Adam falsely accuses him and deflects the bullies’ fury onto him.
The car’s fender was digging into his ribs. Where was Adam?
Adam indicates to the bullies that Seth is the one who threw the cigarette butt at their car, so they assault him. The husky driver pushes Seth into the car. Seth still refuses to betray Adam. The bullies’ violence has come so swiftly that Seth may not have yet processed the fact that Adam has betrayed him. Adam further betrays Seth by doing nothing to help him. Seth is shocked that his friend, who brags about being a tough guy, has not come to his aid.
