Three Cups of Tea is a memoir by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin that was published in 2007. Told from Relin’s perspective, the memoir follows Greg Mortenson’s humanitarian journey to reducing poverty and providing educational opportunities for girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan. After its release, the memoir remained number one on the New York Times bestseller list for three years. Though the memoir was celebrated when it was first released, it came to garner criticism and created conflict from both Islamists and Americans alike.
