Overview

The Song of Achilles, published in 2011, is a novel by Madeline Miller that retells the story of the Greek hero Achilles from the perspective of his companion Patroclus. The novel begins with Patroclus’s childhood and follows him through his exile, his time with Achilles in the court of King Peleus, and the events of the Trojan War. The Song of Achilles won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2012 and has been translated into over 25 languages.
