GENTLEMAN

     Alack, poor gentleman!

GENTLEMAN

Oh, the poor man!

KENT

Of Albany’s and Cornwall’s powers you heard not?

KENT

Have you heard about Albany’s and Cornwall’s troops?

GENTLEMAN

'Tis so. They are afoot.

GENTLEMAN

I have. They’re on the march.

KENT

50Well, sir, I’ll bring you to our master Lear
And leave you to attend him. Some dear cause
Will in concealment wrap me up awhile.
When I am known aright you shall not grieve
Lending me this acquaintance. I pray you, go
55Along with me.

KENT

Well, sir, I’ll take you to Lear and have you stay with him a while. I have important business that requires me to remain in disguise a while longer. When I’ve revealed my true identity, you’ll be glad you took the time to help me out. Please come with me.
