Did He Tell Her?! FTWolf's Hotly Anticipated NBK Follow-up!

Well, Sparkladdies, ladies, and butts, thanks to your advice, I did it. Eowyn and I agreed to meet up for lunch before she left, and I figured this was my best and only chance to tell her how I felt. I got there before she did, so I took a seat and listened to some inspiring Adele while I waited. (For reals guys: even as a Mankler, I am not ashamed to say that Set Fire to the Rain is the shizz. Not that I’m listening to it while I write this or anything.) I had a pretty good plan for how everything would unfold: we’d be sitting opposite each other, I’d talk about some stuff that would’ve happened if she wasn’t leaving, and work in a mention of how I was going to ask her to dinner in a week. A good plan, no? It didn’t quite play out how I'd hoped. She showed up and said she had to go over to a different part of campus to turn in one of her keys.

So I realized I'd to tell her while we were walking around; not too much of a change, but still not what I was expecting, and it threw me off a bit. Well, we got sidetracked on one subject, but I finally managed to get the conversation in the direction I was hoping, and fought through my nervousness to tell her. And I did.

She told me that she’d actually just gotten out of a rather serious back-home relationship (Curse you, inaccurate Facebook relationship statuses! Although at least I didn’t ask her while she was still in a relationship.) and that she wasn’t really looking for another relationship right now (particularly one that would start out being long-distance.) Then she changed the subject back to some other stuff, which we talked about for another 10 to 15 minutes before we both had class and had to go different ways. We said good-bye, and I wished her luck with her resumed college search. And that was it.

So I’m back to square one now, but on the whole I’m glad with how things turned out. I looked her in the eye, not down at my shoes, I told her without botching it Harry-style from Goblet of Fire, and we parted amicably. My options are pretty wide open now; there’s not really any one person who I could focus on in future posts yet, but hopefully that changes soon. On that subject, though my college is having a charity event where they auction off a bunch of people and the top bidders go on a date with them, and I signed up for it, thinking it’d get me out there, and I’d get a date with somebody...but then I found out they had too many people being auctioned off as it was. But a bunch of my friends are in it, so maybe I’ll meet a girl who also wanted to be in it but got waitlisted as well. Maybe. There’s also going to be a dance at one of the frats that same night, but that’s about it, really; there isn’t anyone who’s caught my eye lately. Hopefully there will be soon and I can fill you guys in. If you have any questions, comments, or future nickname suggestions now that Eowyn is outta the picture, let me know. Peace!

Ok, did anyone else fall a little in love when FTWolf said that "Set Fire to the Rain is the shizz"? SWOON. We're proud of you for putting on your Confidence Pants and telling Eowyn how you felt, dude! Do you guys think FTW will find someone to crush on at the date auction?
