Everyone in the Pool!
Everyone in the Pool!
The interesting thing about the GRE essay topics is that they’re already published on the Internet. No, not on some illegal downloading site, but on ETS’s GRE site itself, at www.gre.org/pracmats. Crazy, you say? Who ever heard of any test writer giving out the questions in advance?
Well, before you get carried away with your good fortune, realize that there are more than 200 Issue and 200 Argument topics in the pool—far too many to prepare responses for in advance. However, the good news is that scanning through the list of topics will give you an excellent idea of the types of issues and arguments you’ll face on test day. Moreover, you’ll have more than enough material to practice on after you’ve taken in all the strategies and techniques in this Analytical Writing section of the book.
Now that you have your Analytical Writing foundation in place, turn to the next chapter for the lowdown on the Issue essay.
