5 Classic Novel Retellings Written by Black Authors

In my own personal opinion, there are too many James Patterson novels and not nearly enough retellings of classic novels in which Hamlet is a modern-day theater kid just riddled with teenage angst.
Plenty of people are currently attempting to right this wrong. The authors on this list are just five of them, and they’re doing it while creating a space within narratives like Frankenstein and Pride and Prejudice for Black voices.
