Nobody has new ideas anymore. Everything nowadays is just a reboot, a sequel, or a spinoff, which I’m fine with. Coming up with new things is exhausting, and I don’t blame all the world’s creatives for collectively throwing up their hands and being like “What haven’t we done recently? Transformers? Perfect. Let’s do another Transformers.”

Perhaps this is why there are so many different movie versions of Shakespeare’s plays. The bard gave us dozens of perfectly good story templates; the least we can do is remake them in perpetuity.
