Oliver Quick, played by Barry Keoghan 

A “scholarship student” in his first year at the University of Oxford, he struggles to fit in among his wealthy peers until he befriends the popular, outgoing Felix. After telling Felix about the death of his father, whom he characterizes as a drug addict, Oliver is invited to spend the summer at Saltburn. There, he finds himself embroiled in the conflicts and power-struggles of the aristocratic Catton family.

Felix Catton, played by Jacob Elordi 

A popular and wealthy student at the University of Oxford. He strikes up a surprising friendship with Oliver and invites him back to his family home, Saltburn. Though he is friendly with Oliver and self-conscious about his own wealth, he shares many of his family’s elitist views and loses interest in people quickly. In the past, he invited a friend named Eddie to stay at Saltburn, but their friendship came to an abrupt end due to Eddie’s growing attraction to Venetia.

Lady Elspeth Catton, played by Rosamund Pike 

Snobby matriarch of the Catton family, mother to Felix and Venetia, and wife of Sir James. Though she presents herself as charitable and compassionate, she holds deeply condescending attitudes towards the poor and working class.

Sir James Catton, played by Richard E. Grant 

Father of Felix and Venetia and patriarch of the Catton family. He controls the family’s finances, cutting off his own sister but funding his nephew Farleigh’s expensive education.  

Venetia Catton, played by Alison Oliver 

Felix’s sister and daughter of Sir James and Lady Elspeth. The “black sheep” of her family, she suffers from an eating disorder and has a brief fling with Oliver. Her relationship to her mother, Lady Elspeth, is particularly strained.

Farleigh Start, played by Archie Madekwe 

Felix’s cousin and a student at the University of Oxford. Related to the Catton’s through his mother, he was raised in the United States and is financially dependent upon his wealthier relatives. He dislikes and distrusts Oliver and attempts to push him away from Felix.

“Poor Dear” Pamela, played by Carey Mulligan 

A stylish friend of Lady Elspeth. She stays at Saltburn while trying to get back on her feet after breaking up with a Russian oligarch, but she is quietly pushed out by Lady Elspeth when she becomes bored of her, with grave consequences.  

Duncan, played by Paul Rhys 

The butler at Saltburn. He keeps a close eye on Oliver, whom he regards with ambivalence and suspicion.  

Michael Gavey , played by Ewan Mitchell 

A student at the University of Oxford studying mathematics. He befriends Oliver due to their shared social isolation, but Oliver abandons him after befriending Felix.  

Annabel, played by Sadie Soverall 

A student at Oxford student and a member of Felix’s social clique. She reacts with envy when Oliver turns his attention to India, and she hooks up with Oliver in hopes of making Felix jealous.  

India, played by Millie Kent 

A student at Oxford. Felix decides to sleep with her, instead of Annabel, after picking her through a game of “eeny, meeny, miny, moe.”  

Professor Ware, played by Reece Shearsmith 

A professor at the University of Oxford. He serves as a counselor to Oliver and Farleigh but is more impressed by Farleigh’s relations than he is with Oliver’s apparent dedication to his studies.  

Paula Quick, played by Dorothy Atkinson 

Oliver’s mother. She lives in Prescot, in a suburban area outside the city of Liverpool.  

Jeff Quick, played by Shaun Dooley 

Oliver’s father. While at Oxford, Oliver tells Felix that Jeff has died in an accident while drinking.  

Lady Daphne, played by Lolly Adefope 

A relative, by marriage, of the Cattons. She rudely dismisses Oliver when they are seated next to each other at a dinner party held at Saltburn.  

Henry, played by Joshua McGuire 

Husband of Lady Daphne and godson of Sir James. His wife, Lady Daphne, dismisses him as an idiot.
