As you all know, overconfidence is man’s greatest
enemy.

Music plays offstage, and voices sing a song with the
words “Come away, come away.”

Hark! I am called. My little spirit, see,
35Sits in a foggy cloud and stays for me.

Listen! I’m being called. Look, my little spirit is
sitting in a foggy cloud waiting for me.

HECATE exits.

FIRST WITCH Come, let’s make haste; she’ll soon be back
again.
