Overview

“Brokeback Mountain” is a short story by American author Annie Proulx that was first published in The New Yorker in 1997. It was adapted into a critically acclaimed film in 2005. The story follows the lives of two young men, Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist, who meet and fall in love while working as sheepherders on Brokeback Mountain in Wyoming in the summer of 1963.
