Let’s say you and I are watching a movie together and something awkward happens to the characters onscreen. The next sound you’ll hear will be me leaping out the nearest open window, because I just can’t deal with that sort of thing.
I myself am charmless, off-putting, and uncomfortable no less than 100% of the time. I always have something on my shirt, and I am constantly wondering if I’m making too much eye contact or too little. As such, I typically watch movies and TV shows to escape the potential for awkwardness, not to invite more of it into my life. Sometimes I just need to kick back, relax, and read or watch something where no one is at the risk of waving to someone who was not actually waving at them.
You’d think, then, that I’d be safe reading ye olde classics. You’d think that, but you would be wrong.
