Overview

The Canterbury Tales is essentially a satire on medieval society. Identifying specific examples of satire will help students better understand Chaucer’s meaning in each tale. Students will use this worksheet to identify and explore the satirical elements in Chaucer’s writing. They will first analyze three provided examples of satire and then find three more of their own.
