6 Books to Read in Honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the day we honor Indigenous history and culture. Where in the past this day was known around the United States as Columbus Day, more and more regions are choosing instead to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Indigenous Americans rather than those of colonizer Christopher Columbus. (This isn’t a new idea. His acts of genocide, tyranny, and barbarism were considered heinous even in the 1500s.)
