60 YA Movie Adaptations, Ranked

We are, as a society, very big on movie adaptations of YA novels. I’ve given this some thought, and I’ve decided it’s because watching your favorite book come to life is almost as much fun as getting to be righteously mad when said book is adapted poorly. (I know I am never having a better time than when I am in the parking lot after a movie, ranting about how the director DIDN’T EVEN READ THE BOOK, PROBABLY, AND HERE ARE ALL THE REASONS I THINK THAT.)

Rotten Tomatoes, the be-all, end-all in movie reviews, would tend to agree—some adaptations are simply better than others. I certainly have my opinions (or extremely correct, objective truths, whichever term you prefer), but I’m not the only one who has them. Rotten Tomatoes takes all of those opinions and mashes them into one great big Aggregate Opinion, so I figure it’s only fair to rank the movies based on their Rotten Tomatoes rating rather than my own personal thoughts and feelings, of which I have many.

Without further ado, here is every movie in which a bunch of good-looking twenty-somethings pretend to be teens for as long as it takes to save the world—ranked from worst to best.
