A Christmas Carol is a novella by Charles Dickens that was first published in 1843. In the novella, we encounter the its famous protagonist, Ebenezer Scrooge. He a miserable man who openly mocks Dickens’ generous characterization of the Christmas season. But by the end of the allegorical journey presented in A Christmas Carol, Scrooge will come to personify the idea that success is found not in hoarding wealth and self, but in service and friendship.
