Using a plot map to record the opening action, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution of a plot clarifies and deepens students’ comprehension of the story and helps them better understand how events are connected. Students will use this worksheet to map the plot of The Tempest. Pass out the worksheet before students have read the text. As a class, review the terms to ensure comprehension. Students can complete the map as they read the play or after finishing the text as a review exercise.
