Overview

Shakespeare is renowned for his use of language, including humorous puns and witty sayings. For students to fully understand both the play and Shakespeare’s skill, they need to be able to decipher puns when they appear in the text. This worksheet explains some of the humorous language in Twelfth Night and then asks students to analyze three more examples. Students may work in pairs or as a class to complete the task.
