Overview
Foreshadowing is a literary device used in many major works of literature and is therefore an essential device for students to be able to identify and understand. Students will use this worksheet to identify foreshadowing in Things Fall Apart and analyze how Achebe uses stories to foreshadow key dramatic events that occur later in the novel. Pass out the worksheet when students finish reading Parts 1 and 2 and before they read Part 3. Make sure to review the definition of foreshadowing before students begin.
