Overview

Being able to summarize the core storyline of a play, and to do so objectively, will help students quickly identify the basic facts of a story before analyzing further. Students will use this worksheet to summarize each scene of The Taming of the Shrew as they read the play. Pass out the worksheet before students begin to read. Remind students to remain objective in their summaries and just state the facts of who does what and when. This worksheet can be helpful for students to reference when they are deeper into the play, especially as so many characters are pretending to be someone else.
