Overview

Just as he uses puns to add meaning and humor in The Taming of the Shrew, Shakespeare uses words with multiple meanings to create a comedic effect. Students will use this worksheet to keep track of the multiple meanings of specific words, some of which are antiquated, throughout the play. Pass out this worksheet before students begin reading the play. You can also allow students to use dictionaries to find meanings.
