Overview

Making inferences is a key skill readers need in order to understand the full picture of what the author of a text means. Students will use this worksheet to make inferences from explicit evidence presented in Fahrenheit 451. Encourage students to look for each fact listed in the chart as they read and to think about what they can infer from this fact to learn more about the world of Fahrenheit 451. Discuss answers in small groups or as a class. Ask students: How important is making inferences to understanding Bradbury’s message in Fahrenheit 451?
