Overview

As in most societies, the animals in Animal Farm create social class distinctions and gain power based on their intelligence, abilities, and talents. Students will use this worksheet to record the new behaviors, abilities, activities, and roles that guide the animals’ lives and distinguish among classes on the farm. Then they will relate this understanding to modern-day manifestations of social class differences. Pass out the worksheet before students begin reading so they can complete the chart as they read, or use the worksheet as a culminating activity.
