Overview
Creating an analytical summary of a text deepens and expands your understanding of the text as a whole, including characters, plot, and themes. Students will use this worksheet to examine what elements make up a strong analytical summary and then produce an analytical summary of Julius Caesar. Pass out this worksheet after students have finished reading the play. You can assign specific scenes and/or lines to individuals or to small groups, or you can allow students to select a portion of the text that they would like to summarize.
