Speakers and writers use various kinds of rhetorical devices and appeals to persuade their audience to think or behave in a certain way, and the characters in Julius Caesar employ a variety of rhetorical devices to sway other characters’ opinions and actions. In fact, rhetoric is a major theme in the play, and Julius Caesar is considered by literary scholars to be one of the finest works showcasing rhetoric ever written.
