Authors use irony—a marked discrepancy between what is expected and what occurs—to add meaning, engage readers, and perhaps add humor to a scene. Understanding irony is a foundational literary analysis skill. Students will use this worksheet to learn about different kinds of irony and then analyze examples of irony in Julius Caesar.
