Overview

Love and money emerge as important themes in The Merchant of Venice. Students will use this worksheet to track scenes, actions, or words that contribute to their understanding of these themes and analyze how they overlap. Pass out the worksheet before starting the play for students to fill in as they read. Once students have completed the play and the worksheet, have pairs or groups use the debate prompt to conversationally explore the themes of love and money in The Merchant of Venice.
