Brave New World has never been adapted for cinematic release, although several directors, including Ridley Scott, have expressed interest in making a movie of Huxley’s novel. The novel has been adapted twice as a movie for-television broadcast.

Brave New World (1980)
Director: Burt Brinckerhoff
Notable cast: Kristoffer Tabori, Bud Cort, and Marcia Strassman

This adaptation received mixed reviews when it was broadcast and is now somewhat dated. However, it is quite faithful to Huxley’s story and makes some intelligent additions to the world Huxley imagined. The whole movie can be watched on YouTube.

Brave New World (1998)
Directors: Larry Williams and Leslie Libman
Notable cast: Peter Gallagher and Leonard Nimoy

This movie made some major changes to Huxley’s story. It centers on Bernard’s relationship with Lenina and ends with Bernard choosing to join Lenina in exile. It received poor reviews when it was broadcast. The movie is available on YouTube.
