What happens in Act 3, Scene 3 of Romeo and Juliet?
The Nurse gives a ring from Juliet to the distraught Romeo. Friar Lawrence suggests Romeo spend the night with Juliet and then flee to Mantua, hoping that Prince Escalus will change his mind.
What happens in Act 3, Scene 4 of Romeo and Juliet?
Capulet promises Paris that Juliet will marry him in three days.
Does anything important happen in Act 3, Scenes 3 & 4?
While these two scenes advance the plot, they aren’t as dramatic as most of the play’s earlier scenes. However, as the Analysis part of our Summary & Analysis of Scenes 2–4 discusses, Romeo’s expression of suicidal impulses in Scene 3 is important, as is Capulet’s scheming in Scene 4 to marry off Juliet immediately (two years sooner than he’d said would be the case in Act 1, Scene 2).
